About Tracy
Tracy has over 20 years of experience in off-Broadway and regional theater as a versatile artistic leader with an extensive knowledge of the new play development and production process as well as many long term relationships with major American and international playwrights, composers, actors, directors, designers, and other theatre artists. As a director she has particular expertise and passion for creating new plays and musicals and as a writer her work has been produced on the stage, screen and for earbuds. In addition to her undergraduate degree in directing from Northwestern University, she holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Point Park University.
Tracy is currently the Senior Artistic Producer of Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. She served as Artistic Director at City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh for 16 years leading the company to its prominent and respected place as a major incubator and producer of new plays and musicals. As a freelance director, she has worked around the country, principally on new plays. Recent productions include the American premiere of OIL by Ella Hickson (Olney Theatre Center), A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2 (Arden),THE ROOMMATE by Jen Silverman (Cincinnati Playhouse) IRONBOUND by Martyna Majok, THE GUARD by Jessica Dickey (City), HAND TO GOD and MIDSUMMER: A Play With Songs (at Theaterworks Hartford), AN ACT OF GOD at Buck's County Playhouse and DISGRACED and HEISENBERG (at Pittsburgh Public Theater). Prior to City Theatre, Tracy served on the artistic staffs of Manhattan Theatre Club and Hartford Stage Co.
